2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD can tow up to 23,300 pounds

Silverado, the flagship light duty truck and the only successfully running multi-utility vehicle in the 1500 cc category, is all set for a complete overhaul and upgraded version with plenty of changes incorporated to the existing model before it is launched for purchase. Despite announcing a complete overhaul for the light duty 1500 model, Chevrolet has revealed that the 2500HD and 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD models would be retained with very few changes and the distinguished Silverado range would be further extended by the addition of two more enhanced models, Silverado 4500HD and Silverado 5500HD.

Its arrival in showrooms is not predicted to be very far away, and will not definitely be a test of patience for those who are awaiting the launch of the improved Silverado versions or the newer enhanced ones. However, if the Chevrolet website is anything to go by, it should be available in showrooms by the latter half of 2019.

To start with, the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is expected to introduce and adapt features as well as technology from the revamped lighter duty version and test its compatibility for heavier duty versions. The 3500 is packed with a feature which separates it from the 2500 heavy-duty versions, known as Dually which is essentially dual rear wheels.

Another feature separating 2500 from the 3500 heavy-duty Chevrolet Silverado is aggressive front grilles. This grill is a lot more vertical than 1500. However, it remains to be seen if the aerodynamic air curtains which were quite a prominent and acclaimed feature on the 1500 lighter duty version, manage to be adapted as a feature on the 3500 or the heavier versions of Silverado.

The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD will come with a standard 6.0-liter CNG V8 engine. From some tests, this one will deliver 301 horsepower and 333 lb-ft of torque. The next one is 6.0-liter V8. This one will make 360 horsepower at 380 lb-ft of torque.

There is also a 6.6-liter Duramax turbo diesel engine with 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. This one engine will cost additional $9000 to make the swap from 6.0 V8 engine. However, the fuel economy of these three engines is not yet available.

2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD price and availability

The Silverado upgrade and the revamped line up from 1500 to 2500 through 3500 is more of a publicity gimmick by the makers General Motors. In the past year, Chevrolet made a 1.9% increment in sales in comparison with the year before. These numbers make it second only to Ford in terms of highest number of family trucks sold in a year.

Looking to capitalize on their fresh dividends, the enhanced features and a new line up will allow Chevrolet move ahead in the ranks. It will also monopolize the market for family trucks. The new model will be available in stores for purchase by the latter half of 2019. As for the price, it will be under $37,000.

Summing it up

To sum it up for the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD, it can be said that although there is no denying that there are some serious competition that it may have to encounter from Ford trucks and Ram trucks, still, it should quite easily emerge out making a place for itself and its own identity in the automobile truck market.
