Not so long ago, Ford promised the Raptor version of Ford Ranger. However, a couple of months later, the 2019 Ford Ranger Raptor landed in Bangkok in production form. This truck is a capable off-roader and it will hit the Pacific dealerships first, while U.S. market will have to wait slightly longer. Just as almost every major carmaker offering their trucks in heavy-duty trim, Ford is no different.
Ranger Raptor comes with great power and it will boost Ford’s lineup of heavy-duty trucks. For 2019, Raptor obtained new twin-turbocharged engine, it uses a 10-speed automatic transmission and there are six driving modes available.
2019 Ford Ranger Raptor Exterior is more Catchy
The 2019 Ford Ranger Raptor looks like a shrunken version of the F-150 Raptor model. Up front, a new flared fenders are added and the front grille is highlighted by uppercase FORD lettering. Underbody shields are painted in silver and the whole front part is no way similar to a base Ranger model.
Steel bumper comes with an integrated skid plate, and even rear fender get flared. As a result, ground clearance is 33-inches. Comparing Raptor with Ranger FX4 model that was mainly sold in Australia, Raptor’s height is 2.0-inches taller and ground clearance 1.8 inches greater.
While F-150 Raptor looks wider, the Ranger Raptor is easier to maneuver and park. The overall width of the upcoming 2019 Raptor is longer by almost an inch. The tires are BFGoodrich and are 33-inch.
2019 Ford Ranger Raptor Interior and Colors
The all-new 2019 Ford Ranger Raptor is coming with leather and microsuede upholstery and you can spot white garnished Raptor lettering with blue stitching all over the cabin. The steering wheel is also available with a red 12-o’clock hash mark. Race Red, Lightning Blue, Frozen White, Shadow Black and Conquer Grey are available interior colors.
Speaking of electronics, Raptor is available with Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system with voice command. Stability control, roll mitigation, trailer sways control, lane keeps assist, hill start assist is all included. Keyless entry and remote start are standard. It is generally a nice looking interior that is both modern and comfortable.
2019 Ford Ranger Raptor Engine
Under the hood of 2019, Ford Ranger Raptor is an all-new powertrain. Ford ditched previous 3.2-liter turbodiesel and added new 2.0-liter diesel engine with a 10-speed automatic paddle-shift transmission. Furthermore, the 3,2-liter unit is producing 211 HP and 369 lb-ft of torque. It is yet unknown if this engine will become available for U.S. market.

However, some speculations are saying that the U.S. model will feature 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6. This unit returns 355 HP and 380 lb-ft of torque. There are numerous driving modes, Normal and Sport are for on-road use. Grass/Snow/Gravel modes are designed to reduce wheel slip and Mud/Sand mode will maximize torque and traction to keep the momentum going.
The Baja model is named for the well-known Baja 1000 desert race. This mode allows a lot of sliding under the braking.
2019 Ford Ranger Raptor Release Date and Cost
The 2019 Ford Ranger Raptor will start with the production in the coming weeks and be on sale at the beginning of 2019.
First, Raptor will hit the Asia Pacific markets, and the U.S. model will become available few months later. There is still no pricing information.
