We are still waiting for some official details about the 2020 Ford F-150 Hybrid powertrain. So far, we know that the new version should be a plug-in hybrid. Also, it seems pretty much certain that the basis of a new system will be some of the company’s new EcoBoost units with six cylinders.

Expect eighter a 2.7-liter unit, or a bigger 3.5-liter engine. In any case, expect to see a combination with some hi-output electric motor, which will add plenty of power and torque and make total output probably over 400 horsepower. Such amount will ensure excellent towing capabilities, but also high mpg numbers.

RELEASE DATE AND PRICE

We expect to see 2020 Ford F-150 Hybrid sometime in the next year. It is still early to speculate about the price, though some reports suggest that base versions will go around 45.000 dollars.

The official release date isn’t confirmed yet. The Ford may postpone this hybrid version for 2021 when we expect to see a redesigned version of this truck.
