2020 Ford Ranger shares design similarities with the new F-150 model
It had been quite some time that Ford released the Ranger truck in the US market. Ford said officially the market for compact trucks was sinking. However, the Ranger fans longed for its revival and finally, their prayers have been answered! The Detroit International Auto Show was where company showcased the upcoming 2020 Ford Ranger compact truck and it was greeted with overwhelming response by all. The design similarities with new F-150 range are obvious but the exterior styling is more rugged.
However, the body-on-frame 2020 Ford Ranger is not made with an abundant amount of aluminum-opposite to the new F150 lineup. It has an all steel build. The tailgate has aluminum though. It will be sold in some exacting hues and some trim choices. The different trims like Lariat and XLT will have separate grille designs. There are many wheel choices as well. It will be sold in super crew cab and super cab setup. A Raptor version will be launched but that may not be for the US shores.
Advanced safety features and amenities
Like all Ford pickup trucks, the 2020 Ford Ranger will be laden with advanced safety features and amenities will be aplenty as well. The safety features comprise of pre-collision assistance, lane keep warning, rearview camera and airbags. Optional will be emergency braking, blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control.

2020 Ford Ranger engine choices
The 2020 Ford Ranger will have a 2.3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine under the hood. This will be paired with the brand’s -speed automatic transmission gearbox. The output may be 280 HP. The company has not said anything about offering the truck with a diesel engine but such an engine is being offered for the new F-150 range.
It is likely that the engine will be sold with a terrain management system having modes like Mud, Snow and Grass etc. The company may also offer Trail control. It is somewhat like rival Toyota’s crawl control. It will also be sold with FX4 off-road package. Ford has not said anything on the chance of using a hybrid engine.
