Whether it is an F-250, F-350 or F-450, the upcoming 2020 Ford Super Duty lineup is perhaps the best lineup in a heavy-duty segment. All three models will benefit from the heavy aluminum work and Power Stroke diesel engines. F-450 model is coming with a 925 lb-ft of torque engine which makes it a towing leader with 32,500 pounds.
The technology inside the cabin is astonishing and the interior comfort is on another level in this segment. For 2020, Super Duty lineup is mostly unchanged, however, some higher trim levels, such as Limited, will arrive with more standard equipment than ever before. The exterior will suffer minor changes, mostly front and rear parts.
2020 Ford Super Duty exterior design
The exterior of a new 2020 Ford Super Duty pickup truck is getting better and better. An already good-looking exterior is now, even more, boosted thanks to more aluminum materials and muscular design elements. This pickup lineup will wear a unique twin-bar satin front grille with more chrome accents.
The headlights are equipped with a quad-beam LED units and the front part will arrive with more special badges as well. Power-Adjustable trailer-towing mirrors are optional, just like numerous assist-step possibilities.
On top of that, Super Duty is the only pickup that offers the sunroof in this segment. Fender badges are now placed vertically instead of horizontally. There are three cab sizes available, and the crew cab is longer than most of the heavy-duty rivals.
2020 Ford Super Duty interior upgrade
The 2020 Ford Super Duty comes with the interior that mixes functions and fashion. The cabin looks handsome and the feel is more than comfortable. The layout is very practical and the dashboard design is perfect. Of course, top-ranging trims are on another luxury level.
In a world where most of the heavy-duty pickups are choosing economical interior over luxury, Ford is doing it in the opposite way. The limited model can easily compete with some of the luxury cars’ interiors with no problem.
Limited trim offers two-tone leather seats with plenty of high-end touches, and headliner wears microsuede materials. The controls are pretty straightforward and the interior will benefit from more power-adjustable features. The overall technology is better and some amenities such as massaging seats are in the offer as well.
2020 Ford Super Duty engine and towing capacity
Except for the F-450 model, the 2020 Ford Super Duty lineup will use a 6.2-liter V8 as a standard. This powertrain provides 385 HP and 430 lb-ft of torque. Customers are able to convert this engine to a bi-fuel mill, which allows switching from gasoline to the compressed natural gas. A 6-speed automatic transmission comes with this V8.
The rest of the powertrain options are unchanged for 2020, however, Power Stroke diesel dropped to a second place when it comes to torque figures. This unit produces up to 925 lb-ft of torque which is no longer a class-leading number as Ram 3500 owns the record with 930 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, Ford F-450 is still a towing leader with 34,000 pounds.
2020 Ford Super Duty price and release date
While the prices are ranged from $35,000 to $80,000 and more, we will have to wait for an official pricing provided by Ford. The 2020 Ford Super Duty lineup will go on sale in the first months of 2019.
