The forthcoming 2020 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid is a versatile mid-size pickup truck that delivers great performances. It comes with ample interior room, modern exterior design, and superb handling. On top of that, new Ridgeline is offering great safety rating. It is available in numerous trim levels and it will use a powerful V6 engine. The same engine will get a hybridization for 2020.
Of course, if you want a high-performance variant, you should go for the Ridgeline Type-R model. The 2020 Ridgeline won’t suffer any significant updates. Most of the changes are really minor and barely visible. The unibody design will remain, along with the independent suspension. The ride is quiet and you can’t really figure it out if it’s a pickup or an SUV. Tow rating is far from the best-in-class but it is still average numbers.

Hybrid will keep the same shape of the headlights and daytime running lights
Besides that, the exterior will stay intact. That means the new Ridgeline will arrive with the same set of headlights and daytime running lights. Some speculations are saying the 2021 Ridgeline should get more notable changes. The bed storage is lockable as before, and the two-way tailgate system will remain as a part of standard equipment.
2020 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid interior is very practical
The interior of the all-new 2020 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid won’t depart from the base model at all. Just like the exterior, even the interior will try to mimic styling cues from the Honda Pilot. The interior layout is perfect, which includes the layout of controls and seats. The cabin room is ample and generally, the interior is very practical.
The night rides are now much more comfortable thanks to the backlighting system. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard and Ridgeline offers a really long list of standard equipment. The base model is far from luxury, but upper trim levels are more premium for sure. There is room for five passengers.
2020 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid engine
Honda Ridgeline will continue to use a 3.5-liter V6 as the only drivetrain choice. This engine delivers 280 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. However, the hybrid drivetrain is becoming available next year. The 2020 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid will most likely deploy the same system as the new Honda Accord Hybrid. Accord model is combining a 2.0-liter unit with a pair of electric motors. Total output is rated at 215 horses. However, Ridgeline Hybrid will probably look to hybridize larger engine with more power.
It is yet unclear if the Japanese carmaker will use the current 3.5-liter V6 or opt for some other engine. For now, the current engine will continue to deliver 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. The hybrid model will for sure deliver over 300 HP and 300 lb-ft of torque. Mileage should also get a significant boost with 30 mpg on the highway at least.
