Redesigned: 2020 Mitsubishi L200 Won’t Get Too Many Upgrades

Mitsubishi is continuing with the campaign for the all-new 2020 Mitsubishi L200. A new teaser image appeared and it is the proof of the latest design changes. Company’s design language, also known as Dynamic Shield will be applied once again. The upcoming L200 model, also known as Triton, will arrive next year, probably in November.

However, the 2020 L200 won’t get too many upgrades as you might expect. Instead, the carmaker decided to provide minor updates both inside and outside. Even under the hood, the things will stay intact. However, the exterior is at least visibly different, but not too much. The pickup truck will once again offer one of the most modern cabins in the segment. We can expect a total redesign in 2021 when Mitsu should present the new generation of the Triton/L200 model.

2020 Mitsubishi L200 Brings New Headlights

Teaser images, spy shots, we have everything we need to know about the forthcoming 2020 Mitsubishi L200. The pickup truck will feature the Dynamic Shield design which is easy to recognize, especially up front. The design language brings new headlights that are more vertical and angular than on the current model. The running lights are borrowed from the Outlander model.

The latest image is showing larger intake below the grille and the taillights at the back are revised. The Japanese automaker is proving the company’s latest design language can be equally applied to the SUVs and pickup trucks. After all, new L200 pickup will be one of the best-looking models in its respective segment.

2020 Mitsubishi L200 Interior is Modern and Comfy

The interior of the all-new 2020 Mitsubishi L200 is very modern and stylis. Whatsoever, the cabin is very comfy and upscale. However, the arriving model won’t get any real upgrades. To this moment, we have only seen the teaser images and spy shots of the exterior design. Not a single photo showed us how the L200 will look from the inside.

Usually, that means the cabin will stay intact. However, there is no real need for upgrades at the moment. After all, the new L200 generation should arrive in 2021. That is when we can expect something significant to happen. Till then, the interior will remain comfortable, upscale and practical.

2020 Mitsubishi L200 Powertrain Options

The 2020 Mitsubishi L200 could get some minor tweaks under the hood. The Japanese carmaker mentioned something about the “Enhanced Performance”. That probably means one of the existing powertrains could get a slight boost. We bet on the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that is available in the Triton model as well. This engine currently generates 180 horses and 320 lb-ft of torque.

L200 is also offering an optional 2.5-liter diesel unit, which can deliver 176 hp. The only gasoline choice is the 2.4-liter that is rated at 140 horsepower.

Transmission and Towing Capacity

All engines are mated to the 6-speed automatic transmission and the all-wheel-drive is optional. The standard engine is providing 32 mpg and it can tow almost 7000 pounds.
