The 2020 Ram 2500 is a powerful pickup truck that offers practicality and great performances. This model is very easy to customize. It comes in numerous trim levels and you can choose between a couple of engine options. Interestingly, Ram 2500 is still the only pickup truck in its segment that deploys rear coil-spring suspension.
The ride is better than before and the interior will gain new features, along with the updated infotainment system. Unfortunately, the 2020 model won’t get any significant upgrades. Harvest Edition will arrive with new exterior paints but that is it.
2020 Ram 2500 exterior looks more and more like its smaller sibling
We like the fact how Ram is trying to make all its whole heavy-duty lineup to look like a Ram 1500. It is a good thing and the carmaker is trying to deliver the same pickup with more horses. The exterior of the 2020 Ram 2500 is starting to look more and more like its smaller sibling. The design is unique and aggressive. The rugged appearance didn’t stop the Ram to deliver a modern styling with a wider stance. If you opt for the Limited Tungsten model, you will get additional chrome work. The front grille looks unique and it sits perfectly on all of the trims. As mentioned, Harvest Edition will gain new exterior paints, two of them to be exact.
A Case IH Red and New Holland Blue are the new available colors. Higher trim levels are offering standard skid plates and tow hooks. A cool feature that is all-new is a remote exterior switch that controls the bed’s LED units. If you are buying Ram 2500 for fun rather than for work, unlock the Appearance package. This package comes with sportier design, 20-inch wheels, body-colored amenities and blacked-out badging.
2020 Ram 2500 Tungsten Limited offers plenty of luxuries
The interior will suffer small refinements, like the exterior. The 2020 Ram 2500 will get an updated infotainment system and some of the optional features will be standard now. The biggest upgrade will happen in the Mega Cab models which are now offering better legroom, thanks to the better interior layout. The rest of the interior will remain.
If you want luxury, you’ll have to opt for upper trim levels such as Tungsten Limited. This model comes with plenty of luxuries such as leather upholstery and additional wood accents. Also, an 8.4-inch touchscreen comes as standard. The interior is comfortable, even on the base model. But the cabin looks and feels kinda aging and new upgrades are a must for the Ram 2500 in the near future.
2020 Ram 2500 powertrain
The forthcoming 2020 Ram 2500 pickup truck offers three drivetrain choices. That means everything will stay the same, even under the hood. A 5.7-liter V8 remains as a standard engine and it delivers 385 horses and 400 lb-ft of torque. A 6.4-liter Hemi V8 is an optional unit and it can produce 410 ho and 370 lb-ft of twists. But most importantly, a 6.7-liter Cummins diesel powertrain is in the offer.
This turbocharged engine returns 370 horsepower and up to an astonishing 800 lb-ft of torque. Both 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions are available. On the other hand, gasoline engines are offering a 6-speed automatic gearbox only.
2020 Ram 2500 price and release date
No matter if you buy this pickup truck for a casual ride or for a work. The base model just isn’t good enough and there are better choices on the market. However, loading a couple of optional amenities should satisfy the needs of the customers.
With that in mind, the base model starts at $34,500. The price is going all the way up to $75,000 if you decide to buy a Limited model. The 2020 Ram 2500 will hit the markets later in 2019.
