The forthcoming 2020 Toyota Tundra Diesel comes with more updates and changes. The overall shape of the pickup will remain and the diesel variant won’t depart from the base gasoline model. One of the oldest pickups in the U.S. is also one of the most popular models on the market. It comes with tradition and reliability.
The versatile Tundra will continue to deliver elegant exterior design. From the outside, Tundra Diesel will get slight changes and the interior will continue to offer ample room. The 2020 Toyota Tundra will gain more luxury than its predecessor and it will ride on a proven V8 engine. Diesel variant comes with the V6 powertrain.
2020 Toyota Tundra Diesel To Feature Slightly Bolder Design
Japanese carmaker won’t change the winning combination. The 2020 Toyota Tundra Diesel will remain aggressive and recognizable. The exterior looks amazing and the styling is both modern and stylish. The full-size pickup truck will now feature slightly bolder design, especially up front. The all-new grille is installed and the headlights are larger than before.
The grille now adds more chrome trim which improves the premium appearance. Upper trims are offering standard LED headlights and body-colored features. Tundra Diesel will also gain more off-road equipment. The customers can now opt for the new skid plates and tow hooks. The 2020 model also offers new exterior paints such as Gray Metallic, Sky Metallic, and Magnetic Gray.
2020 Toyota Tundra Diesel Interior Gets Minor Upgrades
The interior of the 2020 Toyota Tundra Diesel will also get minor upgrades. The layout is the same as in the gasoline version. The only updates will happen in the technology department. The infotainment system is upgraded and it is more responsive than before. The gauge cluster is relatively new and it will remain too. The comfort is better than on the current model as the upholstery is more upscale.
That includes the standard cloth upholstery as well. The real luxury, however, starts with the upper trims such as Limited. Tundra Limited offers leather upholstery and the additional wood and chrome trims. As before, the 7-inch display comes as standard and the 10-inch touchscreen remains optional.
2020 Toyota Tundra Diesel Engine Output
The gasoline model will stay intact, the 2020 Toyota Tundra Diesel will use a 3.5-liter V6. The proven V6 can generate 305 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Logically, diesel powertrain delivers less power than the gasoline engine because it’s smaller. The gasoline 5.7-liter V8 delivers 380 HP and 400 lb-ft of torque.
Besides the new diesel engine, Tundra will no longer offer a 4.6-liter V8. Diesel variant comes with the 8-speed automatic transmission as standard. A 10-speed automatic gearbox will be optional. On the other hand, the gasoline powertrain offers an only 6-speed automatic.
2020 Toyota Tundra Diesel Price and Release Date
The upcoming 2020 Toyota Tundra Diesel is more expensive than the regular gasoline variant. The price starts at $36,000 and upper trims such as Limited are over $50,000. Even the special versions such as TRD Pro are over $44,000. The all-new Tundra will arrive at the beginning of 2020.
